No Holiday Party This Year

We know that our residents have enjoyed the Holiday Party that we normally hold the beginning of December. We have had a blast hosting this event over the past years (with the help of the local authorities and, of course, Santa). Unfortunately, the Board of Directors has had to make the difficult decision to skip the event for this holiday season. We look forward to organizing more events starting in the new year.

Welcome FirstService Residential

Today, August 1, 2018, marks the first official day for FirstService Residential to manage the Highland Hills community.  Our new Community Manager is Sharon Tierney.  She and her team will be working for the next several weeks to help transition our association.  All homeowners should have received a welcome packet from FirstService Residential with information on our new management company.  Be sure to complete the following steps to help the transition run smoothly:

  1. Update your phonebook with FirstService Residential's 24/7/365 Customer Care Center number of (702) 737-8580 in case you have any questions or concerns about our community.
  2. Update your assessment due payment information, if necessary.  This is especially important if you pay with ACH though your bank.
  3. Complete and send back the Homeowner Information Packet.
  4. Register for your FirstService Connect account.  You may have to call the Customer Care Center to update your info in order to create an account.

After reviewing the management company proposals, your board of directors has decided to award the contract to FirstService Residential.  After finalizing the contract, the transitioning process will begin.  This process is expected to take about 90 days and home owners can expect a packet from FirstService Residential during the course of the transition with more information.

Management Company Proposals

The Board of Directors received notification from our current management company, American Nevada Group, that they will be unable to remain in our service due to a change in their business model.  After receiving this notification, the Board reached out to 8 management companies for proposals.  Of those 8 companies, one informed that they are unable to bid, two never responded, and five submitted proposals.  The five proposals were from the following management companies:

  • Associa Nevada South
  • CAMCO (Complete Association Management Company)
  • EBMC (Eugene Burger Management Corporation)
  • FirstService Residential
  • Level Property Management

The Board of Directors will review these proposals and bids to vote on which company to reward the bid.  It is not required that the lowest price will be awarded the bid.  The Directors will consider all available information, including the cost, services provided in the contract, and information from references to determine which company will be the best fit for our association.

It is the goal finish the comparisons and award the bid by July 13th so that the contact can be signed and transition started by August 1st.

Call for Volunteers for the RV Rules & Regulations Committee

Currently in our community, recreational vehicle (RV) parking is prohibited.  After listening to the residents, the Board of Directors, wish to relax this restriction.  However, the residents and the Board agree that limits and stipulations must be put in place to prevent this being exploited.  The Board of Directors is looking for volunteers to help create these RV rules and regulations.  If you want to help research and develop these rules and regulations, please sign-up below to be considered for the committee.
