One of the board members went around the perimeter of our community today and picked up a whole bunch of trash. Enjoy a walk around our neighborhood without bottles, dog poop, empty food containers, and other garbage lurking in the rocks and bushes.
Board Election Results & Management Company Change Needed
This year's election for Board of Directors, supervised by Leach, Johnson, Song & Gruchow, has been completed. Approximately 50 ballots were received, validated, and counted with help of the election committee. Joining the two incumbent Directors, Cesar Razo and Ken Klosterman, the following three candidates were elected:
- Suzanne Moye
- Michael Theil
- Larry Pfeifer (1 Year Term)
The terms for the newly elected Directors begin immediately. Join us not only in congratulating the candidates who won, but in offering thanks and appreciation for all of the candidates whom offered their time and dedication to run in this year's election.
In other news, our current management company, American Nevada Company, made the business decision to no longer manage residential home owners associations. The Board of Directors are soliciting proposals from other management companies to replace American Nevada Company.

Important Notice Regarding The Annual Election & Annual Meeting
Conducting a fair and transparent annual election is one of the Highland Hills Homeowners Association's most important obligations. Therefore, the Association's Board of Directors has decided to retain the law firm of Leach Johnson Song & Gruchow to oversee the election process.
Our attorney reviewed the Association's election materials and recommended that the Association re-start the process with a new 30 day self-nomination period because the original nomination form omitted certain required candidate disclosures. The Board agreed. Because we are re-starting the election process, the annual meeting, which was scheduled for the month of April, will be delayed.
If you previously submitted a nomination form, that nomination form is void. You must re-submit the Candidacy Disclosure Statement in order to be a candidate for the 2018 Board election.
Further information on Board elections was mailed to each household.
New Management Company Contact
Our community has a new point of contact within our management company, American Nevada Company. Our new manager is Kellea Smith. She has over 10 years of experience and is a good, conscientious manager. Our previous manager, Richard Probst, will still be involved when and where necessary. We look forward to working with Kellea.

Deteriorating Block Walls Repaired
Some of the block walls around the common areas of our community were showing their age and disintegrating towards the bottom. Your Board of Director's approved a project to repair the worst of these areas. Over the past few weeks, these walls have been repaired and repainted.

Caribbean Blue Park Rejuvenation
Gothic Landscaping is in the process of reseeding and rejuvenating the Caribbean Blue park. Until this process is complete, the park will be fenced off and closed. We expect the park to be closed for a week or two (depending on how well the grass takes). In the mean time, please enjoy the other parks in the community.
